I'M A Celebrity star Myles Stephenson has accused Ellie Goulding's mum of being racist towards him online.
The 28-year-old singer reacted with fury when Tracey Goulding tweeted: "Didn't notice it so much on jungle but what's with #myles #gmb trying to sound like a black dude??"
Myles, whose dad is Jamaican, hit back: "Please tell me what a 'black dude' sounds like Trace?
"I'll be sure to tell my 'black' side of my family that I sound like them! They'll be happy! 2020 and racism already starting 😤."
The star, who is co-hosting Good Morning Britain this week, then posted a picture of her tweet, fuming: "Say anything you want about my presenting ability but I will not tolerate racism one bit!
"Especially when Im just trying to brighten peoples day & ESPECIALLY when your saying that me & my ethnic background sound a certain way!"
Tagging in Tracey, he added: "You should be ashamed! #FRacistPeople."
Several fans pointed out that it was Ellie Goulding's mum who posted the message, with one tweeting: "She should know better! Disgusting."
Another branded it: "Probably the dumbest tweet ever."
Tracey later said sorry, tweeting: "I'd like to apologise so much to you Myles and any upset it may have caused, I wrote something very childish I'm SO not racist, it was a flippant remark.
"I feel so totally ashamed about doing, it was taken out of context please forgive x."
She later added: "I have sent you a genuine apology, I have not deleted my account. I am not racist at all, it was taken out of context.
"If you want to use it and folk want to use it, by all means carry on. I have not racially abused anyone it's a shame you think so."
She then erased every one of her tweets, including one applauding daughter Ellie for bagging 2019's last No1 with a cover of Joni Mitchell's River.
However, Myles dismissed the apology, writing: "#RacistTracey has deleted her profile by the looks of it! Maybe she’ll think about changing her ways!
"Maybe one day me and the rest of the people she has racially abused will get a genuine apology 👀 hope my voice was clear enough for yah now Trace 🖕🏽."
The Sun Online has contacted a rep for Ellie Goulding.
Ellie has spoken in the past about the difficult childhood she had growing up on a Herefordshire council estate after her father walked out when she was five.
She explained: "I was a classic angsty teenager. I was unhappy. I didn't like my stepfather because he just wasn't very nice to any of us. He wasn't horrible, he just wasn't interested."
Myles has talked before about his Jamaican heritage, most recently when his grandmother died last month aged 89.
The singer posted a picture of her, writing: "Started In Jamaica and gave everyone the tools to conquer the world!
"The music I make will keep you dancing up there and My restaurant will be named after YOU down here. Ima continue to try make you proud day in day out in everything I do!"
Myles found fame when his group Rak-Su won The X Factor in 2017, but found even wider attention when he appeared on I'm A Celebrity last year, being the sixth star voted out.
